Slavonic Chorale and Dance is a terrific piece. The melodic and rhythmic components make it enjoyable to perform and listen to. There are ample opportunities to create many musical moments. Your band will sound terrific performing this piece as the composer took great time and consideration in the orchestration.

“Working with Dennis Eveland and Nick Warren has been a truly wonderful experience. From the initial meeting with them, they were both very knowledgeable and informative in respect to the program we were looking at getting written. Ideas were bounced back and forth until the final product was achieved and we could not have been happier with their musical arrangements. Our students loved performing their marching show music!!”

“I have known Dennis since his college days, and I was very excited when he agreed to write an original work for the Wilmette Community Band in honor of their 40th anniversary. The composition he created is both celebratory and tuneful. The effort he took to craft the work with our band in mind was appreciated by all of us, and the result was a wonderful new work that fit our band like a glove. I highly recommend Dennis as a commissioned composer because I know that he will work closely with you to ensure that the piece will be perfect for your group!”

Upon learning more about his successes teaching, performing, and composing music I quickly decided it was necessary to record his music and be a part of his exciting musical journey. All of us at WIU are proud of the legacy Dennis has created and look forward to the continuation of his musical successes.

Mr. Eveland’s works are exactly what I look for when I program pieces for my band. They are educational, entertaining for audiences, and fun for my students. His writing is melodic and exciting, yet is very playable for young bands.
Mr. Eveland recently served as the clinician/ conductor of our Region Band. He was enthusiastic, inspiring, and professional, and the students had a great time under his baton. They were especially excited that they got to premier one Mr. Eveland’s pieces. It was a truly special night!

Thank you so much for writing Dancin' with the Swamp Monsters and The Knights' Table for my students. The Swamp Monsters was perfect for my 5th grade beginning band students and The Knights' Table was a good mix of comfort and challenge for my 6th grade second year students. The "Swamp Monster" group kept asking to play it again in 6th grade. These two pieces are grade appropriate for beginners and second year players in the spring of their respective years. I will program these pieces again whenever I can. I highly recommend that you add these two pieces to your band library. Thank you for writing these pieces Dennis.

Thank you Dennis for your amazing gifts of beautiful music and sharing this with us in sunny Brisbane, Australia!
I’m a band director of a school Wind Ensemble comprising a mix of students ranging from Years 5 - 10. This year, the ensemble has absolutely enjoyed playing your pieces: Fiesta On The Rio & Time Bandits. They are musically interesting, while also being manageable for the various elementary - intermediate ability levels within the group and contain lots of options for percussionists. The students request we play these pieces at every rehearsal and I’m looking forward to playing these at our upcoming mid-year concerts!

The orchestral and band works of Dennis Eveland are some the best kept secrets in the new literature realm. I first got aquainted with the quality of works by performing his composition for string orchestra entitled "Aviator" at the 2014 Midwest Band and Orchestra Conference in Chicago. It was thereafter I continued to follow the contributions this experienced music educator was making in not only the band world, but for string orchestra, and full orchestra.Mr. Eveland has a unique gift in creating melodies that are memorable and attractive to the age level in which he is writing. There have been many times I have listened to some of his lower grade levels and think "kids would really like this"! He has a vast array of difficulty levels from easy to more demanding for band and orchestra alike. Music Educators need to take a listen to his very creative and pedagogically sound writings for bands and orchestras.

Dennis Eveland writes terrific music for all age levels. His knowledge gained as a successful band director allows him to write specifically for each instrument, avoiding technical limitations when appropriate. Mr. Eveland has a diverse collection that plays very well at all grade levels. I am particularly fond of his ability to score for an ensemble, making any group successful. I have used Dennis' pieces in honor bands, encouraged public school directors to enjoy them, and performed them with various ensembles at my university.
