nysbda bANDSTAND

A Day in the Country Composed by Dennis Eveland Temple Blocks, bassoon, & bass clarinet lay down the horse clopping as you take this jaunty ride. Woodwinds carry the bulk of this light, airy tune. Fun brass work of 16th note tonguing contrasts to the legato woodwind A theme. Plenty of percussion work and nice legato B theme lets everyone get to play. Full scoring with out too much sameness. This seemed a little on the easier side of level 4. Key of Bb, 2/4, 3:00 min., mm 106, trpt to F. As a side note: if you have strong French Horns and percussion, check out this composer’s composition: Fanfare For A New Generation (not in manual)
